This isn’t the first time Catherine Zeta-Jones has expressed her love for India. During the closing ceremony of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Catherine was honoured by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. During her speech, she thanked India for its hospitality and said, “I’d like to just say thank you to India for welcoming us so very much. The one thing that is steadfast is the generosity and welcoming nature and hospitality of all Indians, whether it’s in Goa, Mumbai, New Delhi, or Jaipur. It was just an honour to come back.”

Earlier, videos of Michael Douglas dancing to the tunes of Oscar winning RRR track “Naatu Naatu” went viral on social media. Accompanied by producer Shailendra Singh, Michael danced to the track on the IFFI stage.

Michael Douglas received the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at the closing ceremony of IFFI 2023. In his speech, the Hollywood actor spoke about Satyajit Ray’s cinema and how he was fortunate to watch it during his college days. He said, “Ray personified what it means to be a world class filmmaker. His films not only represent the triumph of the Indian film industry but the potential of the cross-cultural artistic expression.”
