Following his OTT debut earlier this year with Raj & DK’s streaming series Farzi, Shahid Kapoor is now gearing up for his first direct-to-OTT film, Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bloody Daddy. A remake of the 2011 French film Sleepless Night, which was earlier adapted into Tamil as Thoongaa Vanam starring Kamal Haasan, Bloody Daddy will start streaming on JioCinema from June 9.
The actor, who is currently busy with promotional activities for the film, sat down for a conversation with Film Companion recently, during which he got candid about his relationship with his wife Mira Rajput. “I’ve figured it out, this entire marriage thing is just about one thing. It is that the guy was a mess and the woman came in to fix him. So, the rest of this life is going to be a journey of being fixed and becoming just a decent person. That’s pretty much what life is about.”
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput tied the knot on July 7, 2015, and are parents to two children, namely Misha and Zain.
In another recent interview, with Humans of Bombay, Shahid had spoken about their relationship. “You go through so many different phases and you grow together. Children happen and as we enter different phases, we will see each other and the relationship growing and evolving. You have to navigate it a little once in a while. You have to always be collaborative about the process. You will go through phases you don’t get each other and you will have to sit down and understand each other. Once you cross that phase, you are so much stronger,” the 42-year-old actor said.
Stating that he was feeling “lonely” before meeting Mira, Shahid said that when he was trying to find a partner, he believed that he was living a “slightly schizophrenic reality” where one side of his life was all about spirituality and meditation, and the other side was all about the glamour of the film industry. He also revealed that he did not like himself in the period drama Padmaavat, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor, who played the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh, said that he was ‘uptight’ in the film and added that if given a chance, he would like to revisit and perform it differently.
