In its sixth week, when many films wrap up their box office journey, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan continues to rake in moolah. After leveraging the benefits of National Cinema Day, which featured reduced ticket prices at Rs 99, Jawan earned an impressive Rs 1.75 crore on its sixth Saturday, amassing a total collection of Rs 633.78 crore in India, according to industry tracker Sachnilk.

Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house backed by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, reported that the film’s worldwide collection has reached an impressive Rs 1,132.13 crore. On Saturday, Jawan held an overall 13.88 percent Hindi occupancy.

Even in the face of new film releases such as Mission Raniganj, The Vaccine War, Fukrey 3, and Thank You For Coming, Jawan has maintained a strong presence at the box office. According to Sacnilk, Mission Raniganj minted approximately Rs 2 crore on Saturday, pushing its total collection to Rs 25.05 crore, while Fukrey 3 raked in Rs 1.90 crore, bringing its total to Rs 87.79 crore in India.

During a success celebration for Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan disclosed that the film took four years to complete due to the challenges posed by COVID-19. He praised the dedicated team behind the movie, highlighting their immense effort and sacrifices.

He said, “Very seldom do we get this opportunity to live so many years with a film. Jawan has been in the making for four years, of course, because of Covid and time constraints. There were so many people involved in this film, especially people from the South, who came and shifted to Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years, working day and night for this film. They have worked the hardest. Many people didn’t go home, they were here to make the film. Some people even had babies here, like my director Atlee.”

After the tremendous success of Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are eagerly anticipating his next project, Dunki, with director Rajkumar Hirani, slated for release in December this year.
