Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma reacts to Ameesha Patel’s mismanagement accusation: ‘She made us famous’

Anil Sharma, director and producer of Gadar 2, has responded to the allegations made by actor Ameesha Patel against his production house. Ameesha had raised concerns about the non-payment of 'rightful remuneration' to the film's team.

Ameesha Patel’s recent allegations against Anil Sharma and his production house regarding mismanagement and non-payment of dues has sparked a response from the filmmaker himself. In an interview, Sharma called the accusations baseless and expressed gratitude to Ameesha for making his production house famous.

When asked about Ameesha’s claims, Anil told Dainik Bhaskar, “I have no clue why she said all of this. All I would like to say is that this is all false, none of it is true. At the same time, I would like to thank Ameesha Patel. She made my production house famous. What can be bigger than this? I thank her for making our new production house famous.”

On June 30, in a series of tweets, Ameesha Patel had alleged that Anil Sharma Productions had not provided proper remuneration to technicians, makeup artists, and costume designers associated with the film. She also mentioned unpaid bills for accommodation, transportation, and food, and highlighted the intervention of Zee Studios in settling the dues and resolving the issues caused by Anil Sharma’s production house.

She wrote, “There were certain queries that many technicians like make up artists,costume designers n others etc did not receive their rightful remuneration and dues from ANIL SHARMA PRODUCTIONS!!Yes they did not !! But @ZeeStudios_ stepped in and made sure all dues were settled as they are a v professional company!.”

The actor added, “Yes from accommodation, to transport to Chandigarh airport on the final day to food bills were left unpaid and cars were not provided to certain cast and crew members leaving them stranded ! But yet again @zeestudios stepped in and corrected these issues caused by ANIL SHARMA PRODUCTIONS!!!”

Anil Sharma, who directed the original 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is also helming its sequel, Gadar 2. The movie features Sunny Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh, and Ameesha Patel playing the role of his wife Sakeena. Gadar 2 is scheduled for release in theatres on August 11.
