It’s rare for a Diljit Dosanjh concert to be uneventful, and his recent show in Pune was no exception. During the concert, a heartwarming moment unfolded as a man proposed to his girlfriend on stage. In viral clips from the event, Diljit is seen cheering for the couple and crooning a track for them.
The clip captures the crowd erupting in cheers as the man goes down on one knee to propose. He kisses his girlfriend’s hand and hugs her after slipping the ring onto her finger. To make the occasion even more memorable, Diljit sang for the couple and encouraged the audience to join in the celebration. In the video, he can be heard saying, “Zordar taaliya, he has proposed to her!” (Please cheer for them). The couple expressed their gratitude to Diljit, with the man revealing that he had proposed after being in a relationship for 13 years.
In another clip from the same concert, Diljit, known for his passion for yoga, promoted its benefits to his fans. Speaking in Hindi, he said, “If you do yog, it doesn’t matter where you work or what you study; the speed of your work will double, and you won’t even realize it. Everything will align. Yog isn’t just exercise or stretching; it’s a journey within. Yog will align you for your journey.”
The Pune concert wasn’t without controversy. On Sunday, the state excise department cancelled the permit to serve liquor at the event. This came just weeks after Diljit’s Ahmedabad concert, where he openly challenged state governments to ban alcohol in the state during his shows. The challenge followed a ban by the Telangana government on his songs promoting alcohol and drugs during his concert in Hyderabad. In response to a legal notice from Telangana authorities, Diljit modified the lyrics of his songs to comply with the regulations.
