The opening ceremony of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw performances by Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna. The celebrities set the stage on fire with their energetic performances at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. However, what caught everyone’s attention was Arijit’s sweet gesture and interaction with the cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In a video doing rounds on the internet, Arijit can be seen touching Dhoni’s feet. Dhoni, graced the stage after Arijit’s performance and was thrilled with the singer’s gesture. Fans on the internet lauded Arijit’s move and called him a ‘down to earth’ star. One of the fans said, “GOAT paying some respect towards GOAT.” Another wrote, “Arijit Singh is a legend himself but he is so simple, sober and down to earth. I haven’t seen simplicity like him in Bollywood. Legend respecting legend.”
In another video, Dhoni was seen enjoying Arijit’s performance on Deva Deva from Brahmastra. Cricketer Manoj Tiwary said, “Goosebumps after listening to the divine voice of Arijit Singh at the IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony.”
The first match of IPL 2023 was played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, and was won by Gujarat Titans.
