Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal began dating in 2016 and eventually tied the knot in 2018. In a recent interview, singer Ameya Dabli—who performed at the Ambani-Piramal wedding—shared his experience of performing at a pre-wedding event for the families under strict secrecy. He also revealed details about Anand’s proposal to Isha at a temple in Mahabaleshwar.
During a conversation with Galatta India, Dabli spoke about the experience of being invited for a pre-wedding event in Mahabaleshwar and said, “It was beautiful for me because before the world got to know about their wedding. We were called to Mahabaleshwar. This happened because Ajay bhai Piramal and Swati ji Piramal knew us since many years. Vo humein unka mitra maante hain, yeh unki mahaanta hai.”
The singer continued, “They called me at 11:30 at night that you have to go to Mahabaleshwar tomorrow. A few guests of ours will be present at our farmhouse in the evening. Your brief is ‘Dancing under the stars’, iss theme par aapko ek concert karna hai. I asked about the head count at the event, he told me 10.”

The family asked Ameya Dabli to play soft music in the morning and energetic numbers in the afternoon. “The next day, Swati ji also joined on the call and said that the next day, Kokila aunty, Mukesh bhai, Nita bhabhi and everyone else are coming to our house. In the morning, we can do something prayerful, and then lunch music should be energetic and peppy. And, because it’s a mix of Gujarati and Marwari people, it should be Bollywood also, like Ghoomar. They are huge Bollywood fans also, Shah Rukh unka favourite hai,” he revealed.
However, nothing about Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding was revealed to Dabli. “In this brief, we were never told that Isha and Anand like each other or are going to get married. No one knew. We reached, and the next day, Anand ji proposed Isha ji in a temple. The previous night we were performing, we didn’t know,” he said.
“Those three siblings and their friends, there were five couple like this. That was the first time we saw them together as a couple. Ek couple ka behaviour ek dost ke behaviour se alag hota hai. Then, we got to know that they are a couple,” the singer concluded.
