Aamir Khan on working with Kiran Rao despite divorce, calls himself lucky: ‘She shouts at me sometimes..’

He continued, “I feel that I got lucky because Kiran came into my life. Our journey was very fulfilling and we made a lot of things together–personally and professionally. We are connected on a human and emotional level, and we will always be. We are like a family..”

Aamir was all praise for Kiran and said, “I think Kiran is a wonderful mind and she is intelligent. And she even shouts at me sometimes, I enjoy that too. We are very excited about the work we do together.” Kiran also agreed with Aamir and added, “We enjoy working with each other.”

Kiran and Aamir released a joint statement in 2021 and announced their separation. A part of their statement read, “Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other. We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does.” Aamir and Kiran continue to co-parent their son Azad Rao. Kiran also attended Aamir’s daughter Ira Khan’s wedding. 

Laapata Ladies will be released in theatres on March 5. The film stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in the lead roles. The film’s screenplay has been penned by Sneha Desai.
