Hit filmmaker Anil Ravipudi has pulled off a major casting coup by bringing Venkatesh Daggubati on board Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. Venkatesh will reportedly be seen in an extended cameo in the movie.

Chiranjeevi announced the surprise casting news on his X profile with the caption, “Welcoming my dear friend, Victory @VenkyMama to our #ManaShankaraVaraPrasadGaru Family. Let’s celebrate the joy this Sankranthi 2026 in theatres.”

Venkatesh retweeted Chiranjeevi’s post and wrote, “Happy to share the screen with my dear Megastar @Kchirutweets in #ManaShankaraVaraPrasadGaru and back again with my most favorite @AnilRavipudi for another Sankranthi. This Sankranthi is going to be a truly special one.”

Chiranjeevi also shared a short video featuring clips from their classic films, along with a brief sneak peek from the sets of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, where Venkatesh recently joined the shoot. In the video, Chiranjeevi can be seen embracing Venkatesh in an out-of-focus shot, saying, “Welcome Venky, my brother.” To which Venkatesh responds, “Cheeru, sir, my boss.”

Going by the promotional material released so far, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which also stars Lady Superstar Nayanthara as the female lead, is expected to be a wholesome entertainer, much like the director’s previous films. The lyrical video for the song “Meesaala Pilla” hints at a story centered on a husband and wife navigating a rough patch in their marriage.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is set to be one of Telugu cinema’s biggest releases next Sankranthi, alongside Prabhas’ The Raja Saab.
