Despite the underwhelming performance of his last release, the supernatural fantasy comedy Bro, “Power Star” Pawan Kalyan maintains his status as one of the leading superstars of the Telugu film industry. And now, he is preparing to delight his fans with a new film titled OG (also marketed as They Call Him OG), directed by Sujeeth.
On the occasion of the actor’s 55th birthday on Saturday, the film’s first teaser was unveiled, and judging by the promotional video, it’s evident that the actor’s fans will be captivated by the film’s action-packed and visually striking sequences.
The 100-second teaser commences by featuring a view of the Gateway of India in Mumbai, amid a torrential downpour. Subsequently, the promo video smoothly transitions to offer a brief glimpse of the movie’s flashback moments, featuring shots marked with blood spatter.
As a group of rivals charges at him with weapons, we get to see the OG for the first time. He brandishes a bloodied, yet gleaming, sword, fully prepared to confront his rivals. “It was a freaking bloodbath,” the voiceover says.
Pawan Kalyan then makes a striking entrance, dressed in black attire and confidently loading a double-barreled shotgun, showcasing his signature style. The teaser refers to PK’s character, Ojas Gambheera aka OG, as a “hungry cheetah” feared even by the devil. The promo video ends with a note saying “#FirestormIsComing”.
Written and directed by Sujeeth, who rose to fame with Run Raja Run and Saaho, OG is bankrolled by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment, known for backing RRR, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Bharat Ane Nenu. The film’s music has been composed by Thaman S, with Ravi K Chandran serving as the cinematographer, while Navin Nooli takes on the role of editor.
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is making his Telugu debut with OG, while it also features Priyanka Arul Mohan, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das and Shriya Reddy in key roles.
The film’s technical crew comprises AS Prakash (production designer), Darshan and Neelanchal (costume designers) and Rajeev Rajasekharan (VFX supervisor).
