Samantha Ruth Prabhu shares adorable picture with Khushi co-star Vijay Deverakonda: ‘Some friends gently stand by’

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda have joined hands for a romantic drama, titled Khushi. The two have jetted off to Turkey for the film’s shoot, which went on floors after the release of Samantha’s Shaakuntalam. Apart from the film’s shoot, Samantha, Vijay, and the film’s director Shiva Nirvana are also having a nice time at one of the popular tourist destinations. She took to Instagram to share a picture with Vijay Deverakonda, which was clicked by Shiva.

Sharing the picture, Samantha wrote a sweet note about Vijay Deverakonda calling him a ‘dear friend’ who has seen the best and worst of her. Samantha wrote, “Sees you at your best, sees you at your worst. Sees you come last, sees you come first. Sees your lows, sees your highs. Some friends gently stand by. What a year it has been!” Many fans called the two a cute pair in the comments.

Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda teamed up for Khushi way back in 2019, but the pandemic, Samantha’s health and other her other commitments delayed the project. Sam even apologised to Deverakonda’s fans for being the reason behind the delay. Now, the film is finally getting ready to be released in September.

Khushi marks their first collaboration and other than Samantha and Vijay, the film also stars Jayaram, Vennela Kishore, Rohini, Sachin Kedakar, and Murali Sharma. Director Shiva Nirvana has already directed Samantha in Majli, which had her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing the music for Shiva Nirvana, which will be released on September 1 of 2023.

It is an important film for both Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda as their last films turned out to be box-office disasters. Shaakuntalam ended up becoming the worst performer of producer Dil Raju’s career, while Vijay’s Liger bombed at the box office leading to immense loss to its distributors. Hence, the two are badly in need of a hit to make up for the failure of their respective last films.
