SS Rajamouli had earlier spoken about the box office clash with other films in a media interaction. He said that it "won’t hamper the business. Even if four films come together, if they are good, people are going to come to watch all of them. There have been multiple instances in the past when this has happened.”
He added, “Because of the times we are in, with the pandemic and everything being shut for more than one and a half years, a bottleneck was expected. But if your content is good, it doesn’t matter how many films come together. People are going to come no matter what. They’ll be spoilt for choice."
In the same interaction, Rajamouli also talked about choosing to release RRR in theatres, and not on OTT. He said, “I make films only for theatres, for the audience to come together, watch the film together. The way I operate is to see a large number of audience members sitting inside a cinema hall to experience a film. So, the decision was very easy for me, there was no dilemma in that.”

“I trust my directors, so I was never worried. Dates are a producer's call, but it worked out and now these films are not clashing. Even if they clashed, it would be Alia vs Alia. It would also be Ajay vs Ajay, as he is in Gangubai too,” says Alia Bhatt.
"RRR will stream on OTT platforms only after 90 days, unlike how it being done now when people are negotiating and streaming their films in 30 days of the film's release," says Jayantilal Gada.
“I have grown up seeing Ajay Devgn films. So when I worked with him, it was like working with a guru. To visit him on set and sit with him, I cherished it a lot. I remember seeing his action shot in Phool Aur Kaante where he comes standing on two bikes. I wanted to do it and my mother would tell me not to even try because such things happen only in films. He is such a fine gentleman, and every minute I shared with him, I cherish those moments,” says Jr NTR.
“It is a mental block that we think that North Indian actors can work only in North Indian films and South Indian actors can work only in South Indian films. Cinema doesn't have that block. Acting doesn't have one language. Actors need challenges, so when different directors give them that challenge, they would love to work in their films. In the future, you'll see more associations like these,” says SS Rajamouli.
“I was very excited and nervous when I was offered the role of Sita. I was more nervous because of the language. I had learnt the lines by heart. I wanted to make sure I say those lines well and take proper pauses. But once I was on set, Rajamouli sir had kept everything ready. And made it very smooth for me. By the end of it, I was sad that it is over. Hopefully there will be more films with him in the future,” says Alia Bhatt.
“The last time I played a revolutionary, I felt it too deeply as I was playing Bhagat Singh. If I had played that role for 6 more months, I think I would have become like that revolutionary. So it just becomes a part of us, and you start feeling very deeply for them,” says Ajay Devgn.
“I met Rajamouli sir at Hyderabad airport. I approached him and told him, 'Sir I want to work in your film. I'll do anything to be in your film'. And it really was like a dream come true when he said that there is actually something that I could do. He said, 'Sita is very important in the film, and I am happy that you match her character. I prepared for a year and worked on my lines for a year. The most scary part for me was to say my lines in Telugu,” says Alia Bhatt.
“When I approached Ajay Devgn, I didn't approach him because I have a relation with him. When we wrote the character, everybody thought Ajay sir should do it. So when the story leads your way, you know whom to cast,” says SS Rajamouli.
“If you believe on your core storytelling ability, then the language doesn't matter. Language is just a bridge to the story. T visual is what tells you the story in cinema,” says SS Rajamouli.
“Many people will expect a film on the lines of Baahubali, but we can't make the same thing again and again. We can't do that, and what I think is that the audience is looking for the same kind of emotion and experience. I am aware of the kind of expectations people have, so I will bank on my story and the characters. It is everything that we show in the theatre that people will see. So what we offer should be the best. Audiences will realise that they wanted that kind of experience, not the same film,” says SS Rajamouli.
“Rajamouli has quenched my thirst to do something new. An actor should never be comfortable, and Rajamouli tickles that in me. He always has something different to offer, something to get out of my comfort zone. Being a part of RRR has opened up many doors for me,” says Jr NTR.
“Why I chose them for these characters is because there are certain characteristics of Bhim that only NTR can portray, and certain characteristics about Ram only Charan could do,” says SS Rajamouli.
“Rajamouli's cinema is one of a kind. It is only his. It is earthy. His study of characters is immense. I feel he reads a different version of Mahabharata all the time. The way he writes his characters and gives them his thought process is outstanding,” says Ajay Devgn.
“Thank you so much for welcoming me to Hindi films. Rajamouli is a great sculptor. I call him jakana ever since I met him a few years ago. When such a trailer comes out, we desire this kind of response, and hence today is a big day. I feel truly blessed,” says Jr NTR.
“I am just very grateful. I love it when we get this kind of response. This is the reason we do what we do,” says Ajay Devgn.
“It is honestly a magical moment for me to be a part of Rajamouli's spectacle. I am waiting for the film to release. Seeing the trailer, I fell of a chair,” says Alia Bhatt.
“When we get this kind of response, we just sit and enjoy. It is a fantastic feeling,” says SS Rajamouli.

Indianexpress.com's Ranjith says, "The RRR trailer gives a sneak peek of several adrenaline pumping moments in the film. The war of Bheem and Sitarama Raju, and their collaboration against the British Raj promise a one of its kind universe. The major takeaways from the trailer of RRR is the faceoff between Jr NTR's Komaram Bheem and a tiger, and the introduction of Ram Charan as Alluri Sitarama Raju. The trailer also teases the clash between Jr NTR and Ram Charan. Other cast members make a blink-and-miss appearance in the trailer. Overall, RRR trailer looks like a visual extravaganza that is sure to set the box office on fire."
