Pushpa 2 box office collection day 9 early report: Even as star Allu Arjun was hauled off by the police in connection with an ongoing investigation, his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, continued drawing crowds to theatres across the country. It is too early to tell if his arrest will have any impact on the film’s already remarkable box office performance, but his fans have been voicing their support for the actor ever since reports of him being arrested first emerged on Friday. Allu Arjun was questioned after a womam died in a stampede during a special screening of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad. On Friday evening, Telangana HC granted interim bail to the Pushpa 2 actor.
Pushpa 2: The Rule has been on a record-breaking spree since its release, having amassed over Rs 750 crore in India alone. Early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk suggest that the film has already made Rs 23.62 crore on day nine of release. With the majority of its business taking place during the evening, it wouldn’t be surprising if the film is able to collect around Rs 30 crore through the day. Pushpa 2 is expected to witness a bump in earnings as it enters its second weekend, after breaking opening week records for Indian cinema.

The film has collected over Rs 1100 crore worldwide. This weekend, it will surpass the lifetime global collections of KGF: Chapter 2 and RRR; both films ended their runs with a little over Rs 1200 crore worldwide. Pushpa 2 is already the biggest Indian film of the year, having overtaken Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. Somewhat surprisingly, the majority of Pushpa 2’s earnings are coming from the Hindi-language version, which has made over Rs 400 crore domestically so far. On day eight, Pushpa 2 made Rs 27 crore in Hindi, and just around Rs 8 crore in Telugu. It’s worth remembering that Allu Arjun is first and foremost a Telugu industry star.
Pushpa 2 is among the rare post-Baahubali movies that can be described as a pan-Indian hit. It’s a tag that scores of filmmakers have tried to earn in the last half-decade, but only a few have succeeded. After overtaking KGF 2 and RRR, Pushpa 2 will target the lifetime global collections of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which made around Rs 1700 crore. The highest-grossing Indian film of all time is Aamir Khan’s Dangal; it’s also the only Indian film to have made more than Rs 2000 crore worldwide.
