What is a hero without a formidable villain? And what’s Pushpa (Allu Arjun) without Banwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil)? The first part ended with a promise of a bigger fight between the two characters, and while the makers teased us with the look of Pushpa from the second part, they were silent about Fahadh Faasil’s Banwar Singh–well, until now. On the occasion of the Malayalam star’s 41st birthday today, Mythri Movie Makers, the production house of Pushpa 2, has revealed a new poster of Fahadh from the film.
“Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat Sir will be back on the big screens with vengeance,” read the caption of the poster.
Fahadh Faasil looks stylish in the poster. The Malayalam star is not seen in his police uniform, which was mocked by Pushpa at the climax of the first film. He is seen wearing a long dark coat in the poster.
Pushpa: The Rise ended with an epic face-off between the titular hero and the egoistic police officer Banwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh), which ends with the latter suffering a humiliating defeat. Pushpa (Allu Arjun) says that the story has just begun, and one can surmise that the sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, will be about the feud between Pushpa and Banwar.
Fahadh is one of the reasons for the growing anticipation for the film as he delivered an incredible performance earning fans in Telugu states as well. He recently won many hearts in Tamil Nadu for playing a casteist antagonist in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan.
Meanwhile, Pushpa The Rule, directed by Sukumar and also starring Rashmika Mandanna, will be released in theatres on December 22, 2023.
