Allu Arjun arrested Live Updates: Telangana HC grants interim bail to Pushpa 2 star

Actor Rahul Ramakrishna penned a long note in support of Allu Arjun. He wrote on X, "The failure of law and order is not one man’s fault or responsibility. Aren’t cinemas and theatres public spaces? Isn’t an individual allowed to visit one according to their choice? Regardless of the star’s appearance and the tragic incident, why did the police let such a huge crowd run amok in the first place?"

The actor further slammed the state government for shifting blame on "soft targets" like celebrity figures. He added, "Hundreds of people die every year during religious processions, festivals, gatherings, as well as political rallies. It is a collective failure of a hyper emotional audience, the State and everyone who tried to cash in on the festive spirits of the film release."

Taking to X, Sundeep Kishan wrote, "How can One Man be Held Responsible for an extremely unfortunate Crowd Event Gone Wrong. Especially in a country that thrives on its Population & Celebratory Gatherings. We need to learn from this & make sure it doesn't repeat again rather than point blame. Love You Allu Arjun Anna."

Veteran actor Raza Murad reacted to Allu Arjun's arrest, claiming his arrest should be investigated. He told ANI, "A stampede occurred, a person died and people were injured. What was the fault of the actor? The responsibility of the theatre is not in the hands of actor. Crowd control is not an actor's job. If that is the reason for the arrest, it is beyond my understanding...I am surprised...It is not a crime to be popular or to work in hit films. Actor doesn't gather a crowd. Crowd gathers due to the popularity of a film, of an actor...If there is any other reason, I can't speaka about that. If he has been arrested, that should be investigated too - why was he arrested, what was the reason. There should be a concrete reason..."

Actor Gopichand Malineni wrote on X, "The incident at Sandhya Theater is truly heartbreaking. Blaming and arresting a film actor alone is unfair, as public safety is a shared responsibility. We stand with @alluarjun Garu during this difficult time."

"Unfortunate incidents like the one at Sandhya Theater are deeply saddening, but holding a cine personality solely responsible and arresting him is unfair. Ensuring public safety is a collective responsibility. Standing with @alluarjun Garu in these tough times", wrote actor Sree Vishnu on X.

Hours after Allu Arjun's arrest on Friday, the Telangana High Court has granted interim bail for a period of four weeks to the actor. Now, several celebrities have come forward in support of the Pushpa star, criticising the arrest. "What’s happening today feels extremely harsh against Allu Arjun", wrote Adivi Sesh. Meanwhile, filmmaker Kohli expressed relief post actor's bail.

The Telangana High Court has granted interim bail to Allu Arjun for a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of order copy. Additionally, it also kept a few conditions for the actor to follow. He is ordered to appear before the jail superintendent to execute bonds, cooperate with the investigation and not interfere with the ongoing investigation or influence witnesses. Similar order granting interim bail also given to two others accused in the same case. The matter is listed for hearing on January 21.

Rashmika Mandanna took to her X handle to react to Allu Arjun's arrest in Sandhya theatre stampede case. She wrote, "I can’t believe what I am seeing right now. The incident that happened was an unfortunate and deeply saddening incident. However, it is disheartening to see everything being blamed on a single individual. This situation is both unbelievable and heartbreaking."

Hours after being arrested, the Telangana High Court has granted interim bail for Allu Arjun. According to Bar and Bench, the judge questioned, "Whether the offence under 105(b) and 118 are applicable to the petitioner (simply because he is the actor)? Is he responsible for the tragedy that happened?"

Allu Arjun has been remanded to 14-days custody after being arrested in Hyderabad in connection with death caused by Sandhya Theatre stampede.

Allu Arjun's case is currently being heard by the Telangana High Court. According to the public prosecutor, the actor is not entitled to get relief. Live Law reported. The prosecutor argued that already seven people have been arrested in the case.

Actor Allu Arjun has moved the Telangana High Court seeking quashing of an FIR in connection with a stampede outside a cinema theatre in Hyderabad last week, causing a woman's death. A lunch motion was moved before Justice Juvvadi Sridevi by the counsel for the actor, which was allowed by the bench. The matter is currently being heard. 

In a video posted on social media, BJP leader T Raja Singh said, "Police has alleged in the FIR that actor Allu Arjun didn't inform them about his arrival. However, the owner of Sandhya theatre in his letter has claimed that the arrival of the actor was informed to Hyderabad CP. If the police force didn't make any security arrangement... who should be blamed? I would like to ask Revanth Reddy if it is the fault of the actors?...CM said that law is equal for everyone. Where is your law? Ever since Congress Govt has been formed in Telangana, law & order has collapsed... I condemn his arrest."

Revanth Reddy, who is currently in Delhi, refused to comment on Allu Arjun's arrest in the Sandhya theatre stampede case. Addressing the media, the CM said, "Let me find out, then I will tell you."

Before producing Allu Arjun before the Nampally court, the police took him to Gandhi Hospital for medical examination.

Hours after his arrest from his residence in Hyderabad, Allu Arjun was brought to the Nampally court by the police.

YCRCP leader Lakshmi Parvathi condemned Allu Arjun's arrest in Sandhya theatre stampede case. Addressing the media, the politician said, "Allu Arjun's arrest is painful and Chandrababu Naidu has a hand in everything. Allu Arjun went to see how the movie was. However, it is the government's fault that it did not make arrangements when Allu Arjun went there. Allu Arjun did not do anything wrong. How many times Chandrababu should be arrested for the incidents in Rajahmundry Pushkaram and Kandukur? Chandrababu is CM in Andhra Pradesh and there (Telangana), his follower is there."

Hours after Allu Arjun's sudden arrest in the Sandhya theatre stampede case, actor Varun Dhawan came out in his support. At a promotional event of Baby John in Jaipur, the actor said, "An actor cannot take everything upon himself. I am very sorry (for the victim's family). Sending my condolences. But at the same time, you cannot put the blame on just one person."

At Pushpa 2's success meet last week, Allu Arjun expressed his grief over the unfortunate incident at Sandhya theatre. He said, "I couldn't process it psychologically. It took me over 10 hours to accept what happened at Sandhya theatre. We were informed about the incident the next morning. Sukumar got so emotional. I know no compensation can recover their loss, but it was just a gesture from my side to show them, I am just a call away. I will meet them personally after a few days."

Post the incident, Allu Arjun shared a long video expressing his sadness and announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the victim's family. 

BRS working president KT Rama Rao condemned the arrest of Allu Arjun. KTR said, "Treating Allu Arjun as a common criminal is uncalled for, especially for something he isn’t directly responsible for." He, however, also expressed his sympathies for the victim M Revathi's family.

Hours after Allu Arjun's arrest in connection with a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2 in Sandhya Theatre, the Telugu film industry, including Dil Raju and Chiranjeevi, and political parties BRS and BJP came out in his support.

While filing the FIR post the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Central Zone, Hyderabad Police, Akshansh Yadav had told The Indian Express, “A case has been filed under BNS section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) r/w 3(5) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt) at Chikkadpally police station based on the complaint of the family members of the deceased person. It is being investigated. Stringent action as per law will be taken against all the persons responsible for the chaotic situation inside the theatre leading to the death of a person and injury to others.”

After the FIR, Allu Arjun had reportedly approached the Telangana court requesting to quash his name from the FIR as he had nothing to do with the incident. He claimed that the management was informed about his arrival.

An FIR has been filed against Allu Arjun, the owner of Sandhya theatre, and two of his employees in connection with the death of M Revathi during a stampede on the night of December 4. Reportedly, the actor arrived at the theatre without prior intimation, causing a stampede-like situation. The ensuing chaos led to the death of a woman and injured a child severely.

Allu Arjun kissed his wife Sneha Reddy goodbye and made her smile before getting into the police car. The actor's father Allu Aravind and brother Allu Sirish were also present at the time of arrest. A video of the same has surfaced online.

A police said Allu Arjun objected to the manner in which he was arrested. The actor complained to the police that he was taken away from his bedroom. The actor requested the police to let him finish his breakfast before taking him into custody.

Allu Arjun has been arrested from his residence in Hyderabad. On Friday morning, the police took the Pushpa star into custody. They took him to the Chikkadpally police station.
