Actor Smriti Irani has returned to the small screen with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. While the show has been getting some mixed responses, fans have been disappointed over Smriti Irani’s performance as Tulsi Virani. A section of the audience on social media has also accused Smriti of using a body double for the show. They have pointed out how Tulsi’s reactions look very fake and disconnected. Many have even accused Tulsi of trying hard to copy Anupamaa’s traits.
As per reports, Smriti Irani is shooting for the show separately and is usually not around on set with others. For her scenes with the entire family, a body double shoots instead. Talking about the same, a viewer wrote on Twitter, “Glad that everyone is noticing this! For what is she charging 14L for? For shooting separately for like half an episode? It looks like people are talking to the wall, and then she is shown separately despite being in front!”
Another X viewer wrote, “Why Smriti Irani Mam’s Scenes In the Recent Episode Are Too Much Edited With Her Only Single Clips And With Editing In the Background And Also Body Double In Family gathering scenes?” A third viewer user pointed out, “I don’t like Mihir & Tulsi dynamics. I also get ZERO chemistry between them. It’s like watching 2 individuals in a marriage but separate. It’s early, but don’t think this will overtake Anupamaa.”
One of the fans wrote, “Why is Smriti shooting her scenes separately? It looks so fake & obvious. I can understand here & there, but I’m noticing this every episode. The parallel lead, Vrinda, is boring. I don’t care for her.” Another fan wrote, “Yeh Smriti poora season body double k saath toh nahi nikaal degi na?” An X user also wrote, “Anupamaa ki sasti copy chal rhi. Smriti apni acting bhul ke Anupamaa ko copy krne ke chakkr mein overacting kar rhi, Maa ki acting Rupali Ganguly se achi koi nhi kar skta. Sab log 3 epi mein bore ho gaye. Rajan Shahi ka koi mukabla nhi tv pe.”
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has been ruling on the TRP charts, though. In its first week, the show received 1.6 billion viewing hours and a TRP of 2.8, overtaking Anupamaa, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and other leading shows.
