Shehnaaz Gill’s rise to stardom can be a case study for reality show contestants. After her stint on Bigg Boss 13, the actor-singer has only grown in leaps and bounds, and is now all set to make her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Shehnaaz, who was present along with the film’s team on The Kapil Sharma Show made a big revelation about how she had the least remuneration on Bigg Boss but emerged as the most popular contestant.
In jest, Kapil asked Shehnaaz whether there was a payment due from Salman Khan’s hosted show that he decided to sign her for his film. “Usme to payment mujhe bohot hi kam mili thi. Sabse sasti main hi thi aur sabse meghengi ban ke nikli hu (I was paid very less in that show. I was the cheapest hire but came out as the most expensive one),” she shared.
Her comment led Salman Khan happy and proud as he gave her a broad, encouraging smile. Fans too could not stop lauding Shehnaaz as they posted comments like, “Proud of you girl fly high”. Another wrote, “So true, you are the best,” and “Look at SK, he is so happy and proud.” For the unversed, Shehnaaz’s childlike personality and her friendship with late Sidharth Shukla had made her a household name. Post the show, the actor gained massive social media following making her one of the most popular faces in the industry.
In The Kapil Sharma Show, Shehnaaz Gill also revealed that when Salman Khan called her for the part, she had blocked his number. The actor shared that she was in Amritsar, when she received calls from an unknown number. Not wanting to entertain the calls at the moment she blocked the number, only to be later informed that it was Salman Khan, who was calling her.
Sharing details on how she bagged the film with the Bollywood star, Shehnaaz Gill shared, “I was in Amritsar visiting the Gurudwara when I received a call from an unknown number. And I have this habit of blocking unknown numbers, so I did the same. Then after a few minutes, I got a message that Salman sir is trying to call me. Just to verify, I put the number on the Truecaller app and found out that it was actually Salman Khan calling me! I immediately unblocked him and called him back; it was then that he offered me the film and that’s how I got the film.”
Joining Salman and Shehnaaz on The Kapil Sharma Show would be the other cast members including Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal, Palak Tiwari, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Vinali Bhatnagar, and Sukhbir. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will hit cinema halls on April 21.
