Rohit Shetty confirms Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, says all Bigg Boss 19 contestants ‘fit the bill’ for the show: ‘It will come next year’

On the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Rohit Shetty ended all speculation around Khatron Ke Khiladi's latest season and said it is returning next year.

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has been hosting the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi for many years. After Season 14, which aired last year, rumours circulated that the show had been shelved for good. However, in the latest episode of Bigg Boss 19, Rohit Shetty confirmed that Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 will air next year. Rohit hosted the recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode in place of Salman Khan, who was away due to a prior work commitment.

Why did Khatron Ke Khiladi not air in 2025?

Khatron Ke Khiladi made headlines last year after reports suggested that the channel, Colors TV, was unhappy with the TRPs of Season 14. This reportedly led to disagreements between Banijay Asia and Colors. Although neither party officially addressed the issue, there was strong buzz that the show’s producers were exploring other broadcasters. A source close to the production had even confirmed a few months ago that the makers held multiple meetings with Sony TV regarding the possibility of airing Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 on the channel. Amid all the back-and-forth in planning the new season, the show ultimately had to remain on the shelf this year.

Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15 confirmed

After this brief roadblock, things now seem to have settled. The Rohit Shetty–hosted Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 is very much happening, and since it was announced on Bigg Boss 19, the show will remain on Colors TV. Whether it will follow Bigg Boss 19 as a digital-first property is something only time will tell. Confirming the new season, Rohit Shetty said on Bigg Boss 19, “The audience was upset that we couldn’t bring a season this year, but next year the show is returning.” He also joked with the contestants about how all of them fit the bill for the stunt-based reality show.

Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 is expected to air in January 2026. Several contestants from Bigg Boss 18 are reportedly in contention, including Avinash Mishra, Chum Darang, Digvijay Rathee, and Shrutika Arjun. From Bigg Boss 19, Abhishek Bajaj, Baseer Ali, and Nehal Chudasama are also said to have been approached.

Recently, talking to SCREEN, Abhishek Bajaj had denied being approached for the show. He said he was sitting at home and laughing when these rumors surfaced.
