Celebrity MasterChef is entering its final leg, and the atmosphere in the kitchen is getting increasingly intense. After the friction between Tejasswi Prakash and Rajiv Adatia settled, bottled-up frustration led Nikki Tamboli to erupt in anger, ultimately walking out of the show’s set. Her reaction stemmed from being upset over certain actions by Gaurav Khanna. This outburst has sparked significant backlash on social media.
This week, contestants had to bid for their cooking time based on the dishes they chose to make. Since Gaurav and Archana won the previous task, they had the advantage of assigning time slots to their co-contestants. While both of them secured 120 minutes for themselves, Nikki was left upset when Gaurav allotted her only 90 minutes to prepare her dish. Lashing out at him, Nikki said, “It is high time that Gaurav should accept that he is a very insecure boy. He is not even a man. I don’t think anybody here has the guts to say this on his face, but he is insecure.” While Gaurav chose not to react to Nikki, the tension between the two only mounted further during the auction.
Once the challenge began, Gaurav was joking with Rajiv about getting two hours to cook. On a fun note, he turned towards Rajiv and began peeling the vegetables and that just ticked off Nikki. The actress burst out claiming that Gaurav threw the vegetable waste on her and stormed out saying, “I am leaving the set, this is disrespect. I am leaving, do whatever you’ll want. Until he says sorry I won’t return.” Following Nikki’s reaction, she faced massive trolling for the same on social media.
While the contestants on Celebrity MasterChef sided with Gaurav and pointed out that Nikki was not involved in the joke, many fans on social media also slammed the ex-Bigg Boss contestant. One of them wrote, “Ismein itna attitude kis baat ka hai pata nhi. She is nothing.” Another user commented, “Ye har show ko Bigg Boss show samajh k overacting karti hai.” A third fan also wrote, “Thank god she left the show by herself, she is the one who is insulting him. He is so calm and genuine about everything but she keeps insulting him from day one. Nikki, please don’t come back.”
Reacting to this incident, Nikki called Gaurav unprofessional and disrespectful in an interview with ETimes. She said that they are not friends and that she wouldn’t tolerate such behaviour from him.
Nikki Tamboli and Gaurav Khanna have been at odds from the very beginning of the cooking reality show. Nikki has previously expressed her dislike for Gaurav, even calling him “jinxed” during a team challenge, claiming that she always loses whenever he is on her side. However, Gaurav has chosen not to engage in these arguments, and his composed stance has won over the audience.
Both Gaurav and Nikki are among the finalists of Celebrity MasterChef.
