While the psychological crime drama series Adolescence dominated the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, winning a total of six trophies, all eyes were naturally on 15-year-old Owen Cooper. For his performance as Jamie Miller in the show, he bagged the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, becoming the youngest to receive the honour. While the 'In Memoriam' segment at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards paid an emotional tribute to those eminent personalities who left us recently, the un/unintentional omission of certain names has raised many eyebrows. Those who were left out of the segment included Alice star Polly Holliday, wrestler and actor Hulk Hogan, What's Happening actor Danielle Spencer, General Hospital star Leslie Charleson, and The Sopranos actor Jerry Adler, news agency ANI reported. The names of Tony Todd, Graham Greene, King of the Hill actor Jonathan Joss, Lynne Marie Stewart of Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and Dennis the Menace star Jay North were also missing from the segment.

Mentioning that The Pitt was a "love letter to first responders", Noah Wyle, who bagged the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch in the show, said that it was created "to talk about the aggregate toll that these shifts have taken on them since Covid".

Talking to the media, he said that he wanted to put "the spotlight back on these trenches, which are flagging in morale and in personnel, and try to inspire this generation to do that work." He added, "And that was the audience we played the show for. That was the first audience that responded with, and it was their word of mouth."

In the final win of the night, the medical procedural drama series The Pitt took home the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. This marked the show's third trophy of the evening. "I want to dedicate this to all the healthcare workers, frontline, first responders," the show creator R Scott Gemmill said.

Noah Wyle has just won his first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in The Pitt as Dr Michael "Robby" Robinavitch. He won the title by defeating Paradise's Sterling K Brown, Slow Horses' Gary Oldman, The Last of Us' Pedro Pascal and Severance's Adam Scott.

The Studio has won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. The show — created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory and Frida Perez — had bagged a total of 23 nominations this time. "It's getting embarrassing I really appreciate it, in all honesty... I'm legitimately embarrassed by how happy this makes me," Rogen said while accepting the award.

In its sixth win for the night, Adolescence was named the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Show's co-creator and lead actor Stephen Graham, along with other cast and crew members, accepted the trophy.

In the Outstanding Talk Series category, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert emerged victorious. Stephen Colbert, along with other crew members, accepted the award.

Earning the show its fifth Emmy, Adolescence's Stephen Graham was named Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. "I'm just a mixed-race kid from a block of flats. So for me to be here today in front of my peers and to be acknowledged today is the most humbling thing," he said.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards witnessed Hannah Einbinder, who won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, ending her acceptance speech by cursing the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and saying "Free Palestine!" Talking to the media later, she said, "I feel like it is my obligation - as a Jewish person - to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel. Boycotting is an effective tool to create pressure."

Power couple, actors and philanthropists Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, were presented with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, "recognising a lifetime of extraordinary philanthropy, activism and unwavering commitment to global good." This was the first time the award was bestowed to a couple.

After dominating the viewership charts, Adolescence is also riding a wave of success at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, having already won four awards. Speaking to the media, BBC reported, the show's director Philip Barantini said, "We made the show in a small town in the UK, in Yorkshire, and you know, we hoped that it would spark a bit of a conversation in the UK, because, you know, knife crime is a big problem there.

He added, "And when we were developing this show, we wanted to talk about toxic masculinity and incel culture and all those things that our children are going through right now. And so we thought, you know, you'll do OK in the UK. And then when it came out, and it was just every single day or week, it's just something else."

"So my mind is completely blown, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved and what everyone did. When everybody is on the same page, on the same train, going in the same direction on the project, then it's magical, that's all I can say. And it was that from day one," Barantini concluded.

The Penguin's Cristin Milioti emerged victorious in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category. A crime drama miniseries, developed by Lauren LeFranc, Milioti played Sofia Gigante in The Penguin. "I wrote this on the back of notes I took in therapy the other day. This show was a bright spot for me," she said while delivering her acceptance speech. This was Milioti's first Primetime Emmy Award win. The Penguin had earned a total of 24 nominations this time.

The psychological crime drama series Adolescence has bagged its fourth award for the night, as Erin Doherty bagged the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance as Briony Ariston in the show.

In yet another win, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver clinched the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. The award was presented by veteran actors Kathy Bates and Alan Cumming.

In the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category, Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special emerged victorious. Actor-comedian Tina Fey presented the award.

In its third win, the show bagged the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. In its third consecutive win in the category, news satire late-night talk show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was named Outstanding Scripted Variety Series at the 77th Primetime Emmys. The show's creator John Oliver, along with other members of the crew, accepted the award.

Outshining some of the biggest names of the night, Adam Randall clinched the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the spy thriller Slow Horses. He won the award over Janus Metz (Andor), Amanda Marsalis (The Pitt), John Wells (The Pitt), Jessica Lee Gagné (Severance), Ben Stiller (Severance), and Mike White (The White Lotus).

Sensational psychological crime drama show Adolescence has won its first Emmy for the night as Philip Barantini bagged the trophy for Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Adolescence had received a total of 13 nominations.

In his and the show's second win of the night, The Studio's Seth Rogen took home the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. He shared the honour with the series' co-creator Evan Goldberg.

While commencing the show by revealing that he's donating USD 1,00,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of America, host Nate Bargatze had also mentioned that he would deduct USD 1,000 from the total amount if anyone's speech went longer than 45 seconds. "I know, it's brutal. This is a game I've made up and these are rules," he said. Now, he has revealed that charity donations have gone down from USD 1,00,000 to USD 80,000 as winners' speeches have been going over 45 seconds.

In his first Emmy Award win, Jeff Hiller took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as Joel in Somebody Somewhere. This was also his first Emmy nomination.

The Traitors has been named the Outstanding Reality Competition Program, making this the show's second consecutive win in this category.

In yet another major win for Hacks, Hannah Einbinder bagged the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Earlier today, the show's Jean Smart had earned the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

In a second consecutive win, the sci-fi psychological thriller Severance earned Britt Lower the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Helly R.

In his first-ever Primetime Emmy Award win, Tramell Tillman took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Seth Milchick in the sci-fi psychological thriller Severance. This marks the show's first win at the main ceremony, where it received a total of 10 nods.
