Following the heartwarming episode with Aamir Khan, Kapil Sharma is set to welcome Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol as guests on his new show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. The makers released the trailer of the upcoming episode on Tuesday, revealing the Deols embracing their playful side as they indulge in banter with Kapil Sharma and his team of comedians. The clip also captures an emotional moment as Sunny Deol shares the challenges his family faced while in Bollywood.
Reflecting on their journey, Sunny Deol said, “We are in limelight since 1960 but for a lot of years we are constantly trying, yet somehow things were not working out. Then my son got married, after that Gadar 2 was released, before that my dad’s film came (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani), and we couldn’t believe how we got so blessed. After that Animal was released… fatte he chakde (it nailed it).”
Sunny also offered insight into his relationship with his father and said, “My dad asks me to sit with him and talk to him like a friend. I tell him that when I tell you things like a friend, you start behaving like a father.”
Bobby Deol also joked that Deols are quite romantic. ‘Hamara dil bharta nahi hai (We are never satisfied),’ he said.
The trailer shows the Deol brothers tune into their goofy side as they engage in playful banter with Krushna Abhishek, who appears in the guise of Abrar, Bobby’s character in Animal. Additionally, viewers are treated to glimpses of fun-filled moments between Sunny Deol and Sunil Grover, with Grover portraying the character of Engineer Chumbak Mital.
The year 2023 proved to be exceptionally successful for the Deols. Veteran actor Dharmendra’s pairing with Shabana Azmi in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani resonated with audiences. Following this, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 hit theatres, making history as the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Prior to Gadar 2, Sunny had attempted comebacks in various films, but none of his roles left a significant impact.
Similarly, Bobby Deol’s portrayal of a negative character in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was well-received by audiences, generating various viral moments from the film. While Bobby had portrayed impactful characters in recent years in projects like Class of 83 and Aashram, they couldn’t match the success of Animal.
