Fresh from her triumphant win of two medals at the Paris Olympics, Manu Bhaker has become India’s darling. The 22-year-old shooting sensation recently appearance on Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 (KBC 16) alongside fellow Olympic bronze medalist Aman Sehrawat and left the nation spellbound.
With ease and poise, Manu answered questions, shared inspiring stories, and won big, including a memorable moment when she lit up at the mention of Shah Rukh Khan. Her innocent confession of not having seen many films, including Bachchan’s, left the host and viewers in stitches.
As Manu was answering questions and winning big money, there was one specific segment where Dil Toh Pagal Hai’s title track was played for her and she was asked, “Which actor is in this film?” Responding to Bachchan, Manu said, “When it comes to love and romance, it has to be Shah Rukh Khan,” Aman also said “Shah Rukh”, and the duo locked their final answer as “Shah Rukh Khan”.
Looking at Manu all excited as she named SRK, Bachchan, jokingly told her, “Devi ji, I too have worked in many love films…’ To which Manu innocently confessed that she has not seen many films. She said, “Sir, I have seen very few of your films. To be honest, I haven’t seen many films at all. I don’t get the time.”
Manu’s charm was on full display as she shared how her international travels often lead to conversations about India’s iconic stars, saying, “When people find out I’m Indian, they say, ‘Oh India? Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan.'” This endearing moment left Bachchan even more uplifted.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 launched on August 12, 2024. It is being telecast on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at its prime slot of 9 pm.
