Amitabh Bachchan shared a heartwarming moment with Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 (KBC 16) contestant Akshay, a cancer survivor, on a recent episode. As Akshay’s eyes welled up with tears while sharing his cancer journey, Amitabh Bachchan swiftly offered a comfort, sharing his own experiences of visiting the hospital frequently, and words of solace to ease the emotional moment.

Akshay, after getting on the hot seat, shared his story, saying, “In 2018, I was diagnosed with cancer. The treatment took place for 1-2 years… I had chemotherapy sessions and surgery also. When my friends were going to college, I was in the hospital. It was a tough fight but a life-altering experience.”

Amitabh Bachchan responded with empathy, “I am sitting in front of you. I have also made many rounds to the hospital, but by the blessings of everyone, I have come out healthy. And there’s no reason to feel upset about your friends who were going to college because they didn’t come to KBC.”

Big B’s kind words brought comfort to Akshay, highlighting the power of resilience and the importance of loved ones in overcoming adversity.

While Bachchan does say motivational things on the quiz show often, he also remembers to have his share of fun with participants. When another contestant shared a funny story about their relationship with their siblings and asked Amitabh about his bond with his younger brother Ajitabh. Amitabh revealed that they share a typical sibling relationship, like any other brothers. He said, “We shared many secrets with each other that we couldn’t share with our parents. However, we would often fight and blackmail each other by threatening to reveal each other’s secrets to our parents,” Bachchan broke into a laugh after sharing this titbit about his relationsip with Ajitabh in their growing up years.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 launched on August 12, 2024. It is being telecast on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
