National award-winner Vikram is looking to extend the golden run of his career with Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, his first not-so-extravagant film since the pandemic. If Cobra had him play multiple roles in a heist film with a twist, the Ponniyin Selvan films featured him in the role of a warrior in the period drama. And then, he was part of the highly anticipated Thangalaan that provided him with the space to give it his all, like always, in a role that very few actors in India can pull off with conviction. And now, he is coming up with Veera Dheera Sooran, which features him as a simple grocery shop owner, of course with a past that catches up with him.

Directed by SU Arun Kumar, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 also stars SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu in his Tamil debut, Dushara Vijayan, and Siddique. Vikram plays Kaali in the film, and in the trailer we see an intriguing story unfold in a single night. There is Suryah, the no-nonsense cop, who wants to bump off a bunch of people before the sun rises, and there’s Suraj’s Kannan looking to settle a few accounts. And in between all of this, there is one man, with an intense past, who is the only man who can solve the big conundrum. The trailer does an excellent job of setting the stage without letting away too much information about the plot. All that we know from the trailer is that an action-packed ride that is extremely rooted, raw, and rustic.
Here’s the trailer:
Backed by Riya Shibu’s HR Pictures, the action thriller’s USP is the number of scenes in the film. In many interviews, Arun Kumar has revealed that the film only has 10-15 scenes, and there will be very long scenes that will be a concentrated effort to play with the structure of commercial masala films.
