There was trouble in musical paradise as composer Santhosh Narayanan took to social media to express his concerns about the recently launched Andhagan anthem. Headlined by Prashanth, the film, a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Andhadhun, is finally set for an August 15 release. As a promotional song, the makers released the ‘Andhagan anthem’ which is sung by Anirudh Ravichander, choreographed by Sandy, and visually conceptualised by Prabhu Deva. The song was launched by Prashanth’s GOAT co-star Vijay. While the credits included Santhosh Narayanan as the music director, the Kalki composer distanced himself from the song almost immediately after the release.
In his first response to the song promo, Santhosh snarkily shared a famous Vadivelu meme, and said, “For the first time in history, the audio label is also playing a blind character – method acting ? FYI I don’t charge a fee to check if the actual music/lyric/arrangement/mix/master is actually mine. All The Best Of Luck.” Understanding that this post was a bit too cryptic, Santhosh followed it up with an explanation that read, “This is not the music, lyric, arrangement, mix, and master that I delivered.”

The audio label hasn’t made any changes to the description in the promo song, and it still reads, “Composed, arranged, and programmed by Santhosh Narayanan.”
Andhagan, directed by Thiagarajan, features a stellar cast, including Simran, Karthik, Urvashi, Vanitha Vijayakumar, KS Ravikumar, and Manobala. The film is set to hit the screens on August 15, clashing with Thangalaan and Demonte Colony 2 at the box-office.

Meanwhile, Santhosh is riding high on the success of his soundtrack in Kalki 2898 AD, and is awaiting the release of Mari Selvaraj’s Vaazhai.
