Contrary to popular perception about Ajith Kumar’s films and updates from the production houses, it has been a barrage of updates from the makers of both Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. Over the past few weeks, Lyca Productions, who are backing director Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi, have been releasing character posters of the principal cast of the film. After Ajith, the posters of his Mankatha co-stars Arjun and Trisha, and Arav became the talk of the town. Now, the latest poster from team Vidaamuyarchi features actor Regina Cassandra walking down that long road that is seen in all posters.
Interestingly, while most of the Vidaamuyarchi posters had a silhouette of Ajith in the background, the one introducing Regina features Trisha alongside Ajith in the silhouette. The poster also has the caption. “Bravery knows no bounds.” The road thriller, which is shot in places including Azerbaijan, is reportedly inspired from the 1997 film, Breakdown.
Here’s the announcement post
This is the first time Regina is working with Ajith and Magizh. With cinematography by Nirav Shah, and editing by NB Srikanth, Vidaamuyarchi marks the reunion of Anirudh with Ajith after Vivegam (2017). The film is expected to hit the screens in October.
Ajith is reportedly simultaneously filming for the Vidaamuyarchi and Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly, and it marks the first time in years that the actor is juggling two projects. While Vidaamuyarchi shows signs of being a straight-forward thriller with elements of intrigue that is a trademark of Magizh’s films, Good Bad Ugly seems to be a rather outlandish and fun outing that is straight up the alley of Adhik, who recently delivered a blockbuster success through Mark Antony.
