Actor-choreographer Prabhudeva is stepping into the world of streaming with Sony LIV’s political crime thriller Sethurajan IPS. In the show, Prabhudeva plays a cop.
Talking about his role in the show, the actor said, “Sethurajan IPS isn’t just a cop; he’s a man caught in a storm of duty, identity, and politics. This role challenged me like never before. I believe this story is not just timely, but necessary. Sony LIV has always pushed the envelope with bold, rooted storytelling and this series is no exception.”
The makers of Sethurajan IPS also unveiled a still from the series, featuring Prabhudeva in a grim, tough look.
The official synopsis of the show, directed by Rafiq Ismail of Rathasaatchi fame, reads, “Set against the charged backdrop of rural Tamil Nadu, the show follows Sethurajan IPS, a cop entangled in a politically sensitive murder case that spirals into a battle of power, identity, and justice.”
Sethurajan IPS is among the Tamil shows slated to premiere on SonyLIV this year. The lineup also includes the Nazriya Nazim–starrer The Madras Mystery: Fall of a Superstar, Pasupathy’s Kuttram Purindhavan, Sathyaraj and Aishwarya Lekshmi’s Theevinai Pottru, and Free Love.

On the work front, Prabhudeva will next appear in the Malayalam period epic Kathanaar, alongside Jayasurya and Anushka Shetty. He will also play a prominent role in the upcoming Hindi revenge drama Maharagani: Queen of Queens.
