According to Sacnilk, Madharaasi is as the second-highest opener of Sivakarthikeyan’s career, behind his previous blockbuster Amaran. While Madharaasi collected approximately Rs 40 crore from India during its four-day theatrical run, Amaran still leads comfortably with an impressive Rs 95+ crore in the same period. In the overseas market, the AR Murugadoss film has managed only Rs 20 crore, taking its global gross to Rs 63 crore, whereas Amaran garnered Rs 140 crore worldwide within its first four days.
Madharaasi, bankrolled by Sri Lakshmi Movies, has been praised for its action sequences and Vidyut Jammwal’s turn as the menacing villain, marking his second collaboration with director AR Murugadoss after Vijay’s Thuppakki. The film also features Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menon, Vikrant, and Shabeer Kallarakkal in pivotal roles.
