Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently the much sought-after director in the Tamil film industry with a brilliant track record that has no flop. With Leo turning out to be the biggest success for Vijay, the makers organised a success meet on Wednesday at Nehru Stadium, Chennai. The event was attended by selected members of Vijay’s Makkal Iyakkam. The highlight of the event was, indeed, Vijay’s honest speech. Other than that, the event had many moments, including Lokesh Kanagaraj’s kind gesture of bringing all his assistant directors to the stage and letting the spotlight fall on them.
However, he was stopped by the hosts and was asked how he felt about the excitement and all the decoding of his projects. “There is nothing to complain about. This is my job and I have come here to do it with passion,” he said.
When asked about directing two filmmakers Mysskin and Gautham Menon, Lokesh Kanagaraj said, “I was first a bit scared…wanted to set the shots right. But they gave me the confidence. I used to give dialogues to Gautham Menon sir on the sets, and once Vijay sir saw it. He told Gautham sir, ‘Did he give it now? Don’t do it.’ So, we had such nice moments.”
Lokesh was then asked who is one Tamil director that he would want to direct in his film, and he said, “Vetrimaaran sir. I have asked him already for the villain role, but it didn’t happen.”
Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that Vijay hugged and kissed him after seeing the final output of Leo. “My idea was to unleash the performer in him, and when he liked it, that was enough for me. We are meeting for the success meet that’s because of the craze for this one man.”
