A day after Tamil actor Jiiva, along with his wife Supriya, met with an accident, a video of a fan making unpleasant advances towards him have surfaced online. The couple met with an accident at Kallakurichi while returning from Salem to Chennai. Several photos of the incident were shared on social media.
Amid this, a video of a fan approaching a distressed Jiiva has been circulating online. In the video, a man can be seen holding Jiiva’s waist while he was ensuring his wife’s safety. The fan’s gesture angered Jiiva, who turned towards him and yelled, “I have met with an accident, what are you doing?”
The couple sustained no injuries. However, their car was severely damaged. The accident occurred around 3 pm on Wednesday on a highway near Kanimayoor village. Jiiva’s car reportedly hit a meridian, when he tried to avoid crashing into a two-wheeler crossing the road. After the incident, the couple was transported to Chennai in an alternative car.
The actor was recently in the news for his comment on Justice K Hema Committee report. During a private event in Tamil Nadu’s Theni, the actor was asked about veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar’s recent revelation regarding hidden cameras on Malayalam film sets, to which Jiiva had said, “I heard about it too. It’s wrong.” He further claimed, “All these things don’t exist in Tamil film industry, they are limited to Kerala.”

When asked about Hema Committee report, the actor responded, “We had MeToo part 1 and now part 2 has come. People are openly naming them (abusers). It’s wrong. We should have a healthy atmosphere in cinema.” Jiiva’s comment didn’t go down well with many, including singer Chinmayi Sripada, who criticised him for saying that “sexual harassment don’t exist in Tamil cinema”.
Jiiva was last seen in the Tamil film Yaatra 2.
