Amaran has been performing well at the box office ever since its release and has shattered several box office records already. It earned decently in the first four days at the box office and collected around ₹ 83.10 crore domestically. Now, as the movie has entered day 5, it has seen a huge but expected dip in the collections on its first Monday and minted only Rs 10.25 crore India nett for all languages. Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, the domestic collection of the film is about Rs 93 crore after day 5.
Till now, the Tamil version earned Rs 68.65 crore, Kannada version minted Rs 22 lakhs, Hindi version earned Rs 19 lakhs, Telugu version made Rs 14 crore, and Malayalam one Rs 4 lakhs. Even on its first Saturday, the film managed to collect Rs 21 crore, witnessing a growth of 9.66%. On the second day, Amaran earned Rs 19.15 crore, seeing a slight drop.
Despite running successfully at the theatres, the film reportedly leaked online. According to a report in ABP Live, Amaran’s release was subjected to piracy. The pirated HD copies of the film have been leaked on many notorious sites within days of Amaran’s release at the theaters. It has reportedly been leaked on MovieRulz, Tamilrockers, 1337x, and other Telegram channels.
The movie also features Bhuvan Arora and Rahul Bose. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran is produced by Raaj Kamal films and Sony Pictures Films India. The patriotic drama is based on the true life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan.
