Irrfan who turned producer with the Nishikanth directed Madaari, will now be c-producing his second film. The actor is co-producing the Indo-French Divine Lovers with Shailesh R Singh who had earlier produced films like Tanu Weds Manu and Dil Kabadi among others. Their French co-producer is Leonard Glowinski who has earlier produced films like Alexander. Directed by Sai Kabir whose Revolver Rani released this year, the film is a story set in the heartland of India and deals with the lives of the middle-class.
Interestingly, Divine Lovers an official Indo-French co-production is eligible for French qualification, which means, the film may receive a mainstream cinema release in France and the rest of Europe- a very rare occurrence.
Talking about the film, director Sai Kabir says, “The film will also have French technicians. It’s an attempt at making an authentic Indian film, with French technical and philosophical support.”
The film that goes on floors March next year, will be shot in various locations across India.
