After the action drama, Revolver Rani, with Kangana Ranaut, director Sai Kabir is busy working on his next, Divine Lovers. The film that is slated to go on floors early next year is an Indo-French production. The pre and post production of the film will be done in France and the entire technical crew will be French. The film stars Irrfan and Kangana Ranaut, who play Muslim characters in the film.
“It is a love story with the backdrop of a lower middle class Muslim milieu, against this mythological shining India and aims to break this myth. While the pre and post production work will be done in France with French technicians, we will shoot in Bhopal, Mumbai and a small portion in the Middle East,” reveals Kabir. The venture materialised when Kabir who lived for a short while in Paris found a mentor in the Chief Operating Officer of Film France, Frank Priot, who has been his mentor guiding him in the fine nuances of film-making and writing. When Kabir sent the screenplay to Priot, Film France expressed an interest in the project and pitched it to the producers. Leonard Glawanski, who co-produced the Oliver Stone starrer will produce the film under his company 22h22. The film according to Kabir is a, “spiritual homage to Satyajit Ray’s Mahanagar.” The film will release in early 2016.
