Arjan Bajwa, who has acted in several Hindi and a few Telugu films, will now be seen, for the first time, in a Punjabi film. Titled Himmat Singh, Bajwa plays the title role of Himmat Singh, an underground fighter. “The film is an action drama and is the journey of this fighter. It was an interesting role, and at the same time one which I did not have to train much as I am a black belt in Taekwando. In fact, I have choreographed the action scenes myself,” said the actor adding, “As the title suggests, the hero is fearless and a warrior, and given my martial art background it was a cakewalk for me. Even in Bollywood, I would like to explore the action genre.”
The actor stated that the film is expected to release in September as only the dubbing needs to be completed. Talking about his debut in a Punjabi film with an action flick, Bajwa said, “I chose an action film as the role is very interesting, something that I haven’t done earlier. Apart from North India, Punjabi films have a huge audience internationally.”
Himmat Singh is directed by Baljit Singh Deo, who has earlier directed films like Mirza -The Untold Story. Debutante Kajal Jain plays the female lead.
