India was left shocked to discover that 17 kids had been taken hostage by a man named Rohit Arya. A banker turned social entrepreneur, Rohit invited 17 kids with their parents for a supposed audition. He convinced them that he was shooting a kidnapping scene, and now, according to recent reports, Arya also contacted several Marathi actors for this same project.

Arya later made a video of the victims and sent it to Powai Police Station. The authorities quickly leaped into action, and after a gunfight, Arya was killed and the victims were saved. Now it has come to light that Arya had been in contact with a number of Marathi actors and had expressed the desire to make a film with them. Veteran actor Girish Oak was one of those people, and he told HT about how an ex-coworker of his had contacted him on behalf of Arya.

“I was informed that Arya had produced movies earlier, so I agreed to meet him. I reached the studio at 11 am, and Arya arrived around 11.05 am. We discussed a project based on a social cause. I noticed many children at the studio and asked him about them. He told me they were attending a workshop. The kids gathered to take a group photo with me, and some parents outside also clicked selfies. I left the studio around noon,” said Oak.

Actor Ruchita Jadhav was also contacted by Arya, incidentally, for a movie about a hostage situation. However, the actor was tied up with family commitments and couldn’t make the meeting. Upon hearing the news, she posted a paragraph on her Instagram stories revealing how Arya had contacted her and how shocked she was to hear the news that he kidnapped kids.

The post read, “Hi everyone, I want to share something very personal that has shaken me deeply. On 4th October, I was contacted by someone named Rohit Arya regarding a film project. The subject he described was about a hostage situation. As an actor, I agreed to hear more. Today, 31st October, when I saw the terrifying incident in the news—involving this same person—I felt a chill. I can’t stop thinking about how close I came to being there. On 23rd October, he asked if we could meet on the 27th, 28th, or 29th, and I confirmed I could meet on the 28th. On 27th October, he sent me the details—including the location of a studio in Powai—and asked if we could meet the next day.”

Jadhav added how she couldn’t go to the meeting and advised people to be careful of everyone, no matter how normal they seem.
