Kantara Chapter 1 movie advance booking: Kantara Chapter 1 will release in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, with the majority of shows scheduled in Hindi.

Kantara Chapter 1 advance booking: Rishab Shetty is gearing up for the release of the second installment of the Kantara franchise on Gandhi Jayanti. While the first film shed light on the mystical world of Daiva Nartaka, the upcoming prequel will trace the origins of the story. The prequel was announced soon after Kantara became a global sensation, earning Rs 400 crore at the box office against a modest budget of just Rs 15 crore.

The excitement surrounding the release of Kantara 2 is evident in its advance bookings. Within 24 hours of ticket booking opening on BookMyShow, the film sold over 1.6 lakh tickets, raking in Rs 5.47 crore, with blocked seats taking the figure up to Rs 8.31 crore.

Kantara Chapter 1 is scheduled for 6,195 shows across India, including 1,317 in Kannada, 3703 in Hindi, 43 in Telugu, 247 in Tamil and 885 in Malayalam.

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara 2 also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram in pivotal roles. Unlike Kantara (2022), made on a Rs 15 crore budget, the second part, produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, has been mounted on a much grander scale with an estimated budget of Rs 125 crore.

Kantara Chapter 1 is also set for release in international markets, including Ireland and North America.

In a recent development, the makers of Kantara 2 cancelled a promotional event in Chennai following the tragic stampede at actor Vijay’s rally, which claimed 40 lives. A statement read, “In view of the recent unfortunate incident, we have decided to cancel our Kantara Chapter 1 promotional event scheduled in Chennai tomorrow. We believe this is a time for reflection and solidarity with those affected. Our deepest condolences and prayers are with the families impacted. We are grateful for your understanding and support, and we look forward to meeting our audience in Tamil Nadu at a more appropriate time.”
