The trailer of ‘Charlie’, a highly-anticipated Malayalam movie starring Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in lead roles, is out now on YouTube where it has garnered a phenomenal 3 lakh+ views in the last 12 hours.

The film directed by Martin Prakkat was described by him as an ‘intriguing love story.’ It is the second film after ‘ABCD’ witnessing a Dulquer-Prakkat association.

The trailer doesn’t tell us much about the story’s plot, but clearly shows that the film has been shot in some exciting and beautiful locations and will be an experimental venture. Dulquer, who is known to sport beards, is seen in the film with a rugged look, sparking trends among youngsters.

Sharing the trailer on his Facebook account, Dulquer wrote, “I know we’ve made you wait. I know we’ve made you impatient. I know we’ve even made you upset! But I know we’ve made it worth it.”

For Dulquer, ‘Charlie’ is a major bet coming on the back of critical and commercial successes such as ‘Bangalore Days’ and ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’, the Mani Ratnam film that was released both in Tamil and Malayalam.

Aparna Gopinath, Nedumudi Venu and Kalpana are some of the other actors in the film. The film’s music has been composed by Gopi Sundar and cinematography handled by Jomon T John.

The film is expected to release on December 18.
