SUGA of popular K-pop band BTS is all set to begin his mandatory military service. The group’s record label BigHit Music announced the news on Weverse on Monday.
The statement read, “Hello. This is BigHit Music. We would like to inform our fans that Suga has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further updates in due course.”

It further read, “We ask you for your continued love and support for Suga until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artiste. Thank you.” Further details are awaited.
On August 6, after SUGA’s solo concert in Seoul, he went live. At one point, the rapper got emotional. As translated by Twitter user @ryuminating, SUGA said, “I really am not the type to cry, but starting from Snooze, I felt it. The members were there and my sunbaenims came too.”
He added, “If I say soon, that feels like a lie. So let’s see each other again in 2025. All right? Please wait a bit. 2025, let’s see each other then. You did great. Bye.”
Fans on the internet were emotional after SUGA’s announcement. One of the fans wrote, “We’re gonna miss our strongest person a lot. Yoongi come back safely and stronger. Let’s all meet again in 2025.”
Jin entered military service in December 2022, and J-hope followed suit in April 2023 and the band is scheduled to reunite in 2025.
