Actor Shine Tom Chacko’s father CP Chacko died in a road accident on Friday morning near Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. Shine, his mother, brother, and the driver were also in the car, which collided with a lorry. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred around 6 am on Friday while the family was travelling from Ernakulam to Bengaluru. According to reports, a lorry coming from the opposite direction collided with their car.
Shine Tom Chacko was asleep in the back seat of the car at the time of the accident. He sustained a fracture in his right arm. According to reports, his mother and brother escaped with no major injuries.
Dharmapuri Superintendent of Police SS Maheswaran confirmed the death of Shine Tom Chacko’s father in a statement to NDTV, adding that “actor Shine Tom is being treated.” He also shared that an investigation into the accident is currently underway.
In an interview with Manorama News, Shine Tom Chacko’s driver Aneesh shared the actor’s father died even before they could take him to the hospital. He added, “He was behind the driver’s seat without seatbelt on, and Shine chettan was sitting in the back.”
Recalling the events leading to the accident, Aneesh shared that they had left Ernakulam at 10 pm on Thursday. They were nearing Salem when the accident occurred around 6 am on Friday. According to Anees, a lorry ahead of them suddenly switched lanes, and the car rammed into it.
