Mammootty greets media as he shoots for Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot after 8-month health break: ‘Prayers have finally been heard’

Mammootty, when asked about his headspace at the moment on sets with director Mahesh Narayanan, Anto Joseph, and the rest of the crew, also added, “Prayers out of love will always find a result. I think this is the evidence. Love to one and all who remembered, loved, and prayed during the time.” Mammootty, sporting long hair and a pair of shades, thanked the media and audiences for all the wishes. “I thank everyone who reached out with wishes.” The team behind the film also confirmed that the first official title reveal and teaser for the film will be on October 2, at 12 PM. The announcement poster featured the caption,” Bringing together the Big M’s of Indian Cinema,” referring to the reunion of Malayalam stars Mammooty and Mohanlal on screen after many years.

Mohanlal, Fahad Faasil, Kunchako Boban, and Nayanthara are among the other principal members of the ensemble cast. Patriot is being described as an espionage thriller set across several countries and is already considered to be one of the most expensive Malayalam films in recent times. The film, bankrolled by Anto Joseph Film Company, will be released in the second quarter of 2026.
