Another ban on Renji Panicker’s movies leaves A Ranjith Cinema in trouble

Another ban has been imposed on Renji Panicker and his upcoming films by Film Exhibitors United Organization of Kerala.

The Film Exhibitors United Organization of Kerala (FEUOK) has once again imposed a ban on Malayalam actor-screenwriter Renji Panicker. The film body has declared its refusal to collaborate on Renji’s upcoming projects due to his failure to settle outstanding payments owed to theatre owners.

According to reports, Renji’s movie distribution and production company has not fulfilled their financial obligations, with the outstanding dues amounting to approximately Rs 70 lakh. The ban will only be lifted upon the full clearance of the outstanding amount.

Until then, theatre owners will not exhibit any movies involving Renji Panicker in any capacity. It has to be noted that this is not the first ban on the actor-screenwriter. The new ban leaves the upcoming film A Ranjith Cinema in trouble as the film is inching towards its release on December 8.

A Ranjith Cinema, directed by Nishanth Sattu and starring Asif Ali, Saiju Kurup and Namita Pramod, also has Ranji as part of its cast. Theatre owners have raised objections to the movie and said they won’t release any films featuring Ranji.

Earlier this year, FEUOK had imposed a similar ban on Renji Panicker’s movies, but that didn’t stop the release of his film Section 306 IPC, which hit screens on April 8. However, it has to be seen if Renji can get away yet again.
