Actor and producer Priyanka Chopra has been roped in as one of the leads of the upcoming John Cena and Idris Elba-starrer film Heads of State. Cena shared a news article announcing the film, and welcomed his cast mates aboard. He wrote, “THANK YOU @AmazonStudios for assembling such a dream team. Excited to get to work on #HeadsOfState with @idriselba and welcome the newest cast member, the world renowned @priyankachopra.”
Priyanka responded to John Cena’s tweet as she wrote back, “Thank you for the warm welcome @JohnCena I can’t wait to get to set! let’s gooooo ❤️. @AmazonStudios #headsofstate @idriselba.” Priyanka’s fans congratulated her in the comments section. One of them wrote, “You Go PC..🫶🏻 So excited & looking forward to see #Citadel. But this is huge working with @JohnCena.” Another commented, “Let’s go queen,” while one person mentioned in a comment, “You deserve this sweetheart, honest and hardworking girl.”
Priyanka had also shared the news by posting about it on her Instagram stories. Currently, Priyanka is busy promoting her upcoming Prime Video series Citadel, with Richard Madden. She has been doing press rounds for the show in Mumbai, where she landed a while ago with her American singer-husband Nick Jonas. The two were also seen attending the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre event while in the Maximum City.
On Tuesday, a special premiere of Citadel was held in Mumbai, where several celebrities turned up to cheer for PeeCee. Actors such as Sanya Malhotra, Neha Dhupia, Varun Dhawan, among others, were photographed at the premiere. Varun Dhawan also happens to be the male lead of the Indian spinoff of Citadel, which will co-star Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The series is being helmed by Raj and DK.
Also starring Stanley Tucci, the ‘mothership’ Citadel series is executive produced by the Russo brothers, and will be available to stream on Prime Video from April 28 onwards.
