Ali Fazal offers sneak peek into his Hollywood film Kandahar with an intriguing first look reveal

Actor Ali Fazal unveiled the first look poster of his upcoming Hollywood action thriller film ‘Kandahar’ on Wednesday. Taking to Instagram, Ali treated fans to the poster, stating, “Pulse pounding action apparently- An adrenaline ride made for the big screen .. here’s a screen grab for some context. Cuz some serious Action went down here in the desert. DIRT BIKIN’ IT ON A KTM YES. Check out my new movie KANDAHAR . Only in theatres, MAY 26.”

In the poster, Ali is seen sporting a rugged look in front of a dirt bike amidst the desert. He stars alongside Hollywood’s action star Gerard Butler. The film is set to release on May 26 in the US, with extensive shooting done in the Al Ula region of Saudi Arabia.

Ali made history as the first Indian actor to have a lead titular role in a Hollywood film with the 2017 movie ‘Victoria and Abdul’ alongside the legendary Dame Judi Dench. He now stars as one of the leads in the action caper film directed by Ric Roman Waugh, known for his work in films like ‘Angel Has Fallen’ and ‘Greenland’.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the film also features Scottish actor Gerard Butler, Navid Negahban, Travis Fimmel, and Elnaaz Norouzi in lead roles. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 26, 2023.

The film follows the story of Tom Harris (Gerard Butler), an undercover CIA operative stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. After his mission is exposed, he must fight his way out, alongside his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in Kandahar while evading elite enemy forces and foreign spies.

In addition to ‘Kandahar’, Ali Fazal will be seen in the web series ‘Mirzapur Season 3’, streaming on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. He is also set to appear in ‘The Underbug‘, ‘Girls Will Be Girls’, ‘Metro In Dino’, and another Hollywood film titled ‘Afghan Dreamers’.
