Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik married Pakistani actor Sana Javed on Saturday. The couple took to their social media handles and shared the good news by sharing beautiful pictures from the wedding ceremony. Two days after tying the knot, Sana has now changed her name on Instagram to Sana Shoaib Malik. However, she has not changed her username and it remains the same ‘Sana Javed Official.’
Sana also shared an unseen picture from the wedding ceremony. In the latest picture, Sana was donning a different outfit and she was seen hugging Shoaib. The duo was all smiles and she captioned the picture with a red heart emoticon. She also took to her Instagram stories and shared Shoaib’s recent achievement of becoming Asia’s first batsman to surpass 13,000 T20 runs. Sharing the news, Sana wrote, “MashaAllah so proud.”
Shoaib was previously married to Indian tennis player Sania Mirza. Sania’s father Imran Mirza told PTI that Sania initiated divorce with ‘khula’. Khula allows a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.
Sania’s team released a statement and said, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well- wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy.”
Sana had tied the knot with Umair Jaswal in 2020. But in 2021, there were rumors of trouble in their marriage. They removed their photos from social media, and reports suggested that Sana had moved out of Umair’s house. However, the couple has not officially announced a divorce.
