Homi Adajania has succeeded in putting together an intriguing star cast of Naseeruddin Shah,Dimple Kapadia,Boman Irani,Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in his English film titled,Finding Fanny. According to Adajania,The film is set in a Goan village that the world has forgotten about. Nothing of any relevance happens here and the people,well,they just exist… It is a hilarious tale of how inane conversation amongst the villagers,send five oddballs to go in search of a woman called Stefaine Fernandez (Fanny),but nobody knows whether shes alive or dead or just a figment of someones imagination. Its quite a bizarre,melancholic but very comical story, said Adajania.
This will be the directors third film,after the 2006,Being Cyrus,also an English language film,which starred Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia and the successful Cocktail. Adajania is presently working on the script. Finding Fanny. will be produced by Saif and Dinesh Vijans lluminati Films.
Kiran Rao launches her production company
After her first directorial debut,Dhobi Ghat,produced under Aamir Khan Productions,Kiran Rao has launched her own production company under her name. Earlier too,she had produced films like Taare Zameen Par,Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na,Peepli Live,Delhi Belly,Talaash and the popular show on social causes,Satyamev Jayate under Aamir Khans production house.
The aim of the production company will be to encourage new talent and independent film-makers,providing a wider platform to release their films. Anand Gandhis critically acclaimed film Ship of Theseus will be presented under her banner in July this year.
