When asked who he thinks is the next Bimal Roy in current lot of directors, the 'Munna Bhai MBBS' actor said it would be unfair to pick among the current talent. But, Boman did name two of his favourite Bollywood directors whose films are closest and relevant to films made by legendary director Bimal Roy. Speaking on the occasion, Boman said that India should make world cinema but qualitatively good films as well. Boman also recounted the experience of watching Bimal Roy's films on Doordarshan during his childhood and getting influenced by his work.
