It’s no secret that the much-anticipated showdown between Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR in Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 goes beyond just high-octane action. What has fans buzzing with excitement is the upcoming dance battle between the two stars. Feeding into that hype, the makers have dropped a 35-second teaser of the song “Janaab-e-Aali”, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the dance face-off that promises to set the screen ablaze.
The teaser opens with solo introductions of both Hrithik and Jr NTR, each grooving to the upbeat number in their signature style. As the tempo builds, the two finally come face to face, setting the stage for an epic dance-off. Interestingly, both Hrithik and Jr NTR are twinning in the song. The teaser concludes with the tagline: “Watch the full song only in theatres.”
This strategy, to withhold the full track for the theatrical release, has been reportedly chosen by producer Aditya Chopra. Known for his knack for creating cinematic moments around music, Aditya Chopra previously employed a similar approach with iconic YRF songs like Kajra Re and Kamli. The intent is to preserve the freshness and surprise of the full sequence for the big screen.
Both Hrithik and Jr NTR shared the teaser on their social media platforms. Hrithik captioned his post: “Not every legendary battle is fought on the battlefield. Sometimes, the arena is the dance floor. #JanaabeAali Full song only in theatres!” Composed by Pritam, “Janaab-e-Aali” is sung by Sachet Tandon and Saaj Bhatt, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The grand sequence was reportedly shot over seven days at YRF Studios in Mumbai, earlier last month, and has been choreographed by the veteran duo Bosco-Caesar.
Ever since War 2 was announced, anticipation has been mounting, especially for this dance duel. Hrithik is widely celebrated for his dance prowess, while Jr NTR wowed global audiences with his electrifying performance in the Oscar-winning “Naatu Naatu” from RRR. The excitement also draws from War’s earlier installment, where Hrithik faced off with Tiger Shroff in the high-energy number “Jai Shiv Shankar.”
Now, all eyes are on the big screen to witness who emerges victorious in this high-voltage musical clash. War 2, also co-starring Kiara Advani, is set to release on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
