War 2 Box Office Collection Worldwide Day 9: Ayan Mukerji’s directorial War 2 has now entered its second week, but the film continues to witness a sharp decline in box office numbers amid overwhelmingly negative reviews and poor word-of-mouth reception. After opening to a strong start with Rs 52 crore on its first day, the action-packed sequel has seen a dramatic dip. On its ninth day, the film managed to collect only Rs 4 crore, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the film’s total India net collection to Rs 208.25 crore.
On its ninth day, the film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of just 9.83%. Morning shows started at 5.70%, rising slightly to 8.40% in the afternoon, followed by 10.09% in the evening, and ending with 15.12% during night shows.

The film is also underperforming when compared to the lead actors’ past releases. Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter recorded a net Hindi collection of Rs 212.79 crore in total, while Jr. NTR’s last release, Devara: Part One, grossed Rs 292.03 crore in its entire run. War 2 is lagging behind both these benchmarks. Additionally, the film is falling short when stacked against its current box office competition Coolie, which released on the same day, has grossed Rs 235.15 crore in just nine days. The film is also severely behind one of the biggest hits of the year, Chhaava, which managed to collect Rs 286.75 crore in its nine-day run.
Also co-starring Kiara Advani, expectations were sky-high for War 2, especially given the collaboration between two major stars. Many had anticipated that the film could potentially breach the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally. However, based on the current trajectory, even recovering its budget seems like a tall order.
