Recently, photos of 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey touching his wife Sheetal Thakur’s feet during Karwa Chauth went viral on social media. In a recent interaction, Vikrant spoke about the viral photos and explained the reason behind his gesture. While he received much praise, he also faced criticism and abuse from some social media users.
Speaking to The Lallantop, Vikrant shared, “My phone had six photos, but only four of them became a topic of discussion. Some people liked it, while others even abused me. I don’t understand why. I believe that if you want peace at home, you should touch your wife’s feet from time to time. People made those photos viral. She is the Lakshmi of my home, and I don’t think it’s wrong to touch Lakshmi’s feet. I proudly say that she came into my life 10 years ago and changed it for the better. Ever since she entered my life, only good things have happened, and to keep it that way, I continue to touch her feet.”
Vikrant had shared photos of him and Sheetal celebrating Karwa Chauth at their home with the moon visible in the background. In the photos, as Sheetal performed the puja, Vikrant was seen touching her feet in a few of the shots.
In an earlier conversation with YouTuber AminJaz, Vikrant opened up about his bond with Sheetal and revealed that it was his mother who encouraged them to live together before marriage. “We (Vikrant and Sheetal) have been together for almost a decade now. We dated for nearly eight years before tying the knot. This arrangement worked for us because our temperaments and life aspirations aligned. We lived together for nearly the entirety of our relationship, around seven years. It was my mother who suggested that we stay together. Thankfully, I have really progressive parents.”
Vikrant and Sheetal tied the knot in 2022 and welcomed a baby boy earlier this year.
