Vashu Bhagnani’s claim of Govinda reaching Hero No 1 set three days late miffs actor, manager calls out remark’s timing: ‘It doesn’t make sense’

Govinda's manager has strongly denied producer Vashu Bhagnani's claim that the actor arrived three days late on the set of Hero No 1. He also questioned why these accusations were brought up now.

Producer Vashu Bhagnani’s recent remarks regarding Govinda’s alleged tardiness and the purported inconvenience caused to the cast and crew of the film Hero No 1 while shooting in Switzerland have stirred controversy. Responding to Bhagnani’s comments, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, gave a firm statement disputing the producer’s claims and questioning the timing of his allegations.

In an interview with ETimes, Sinha refuted Bhagnani’s assertions, stating that as Govinda’s manager, he meticulously plans the actor’s shooting schedules and has no recollection of any such incident. He went on to clarify that if Govinda was ever late on set, it was due to health reasons or unavoidable delays in travel. Sinha also emphasised that  ‘it doesn’t make sense’ for a producer to bring this up now after so many years. He, however, extended an offer to resolve any discrepancies through dialogue.

Having collaborated with Govinda on successful projects like Hero No 1 and the original Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Bhagnani is currently anticipating the release of his new film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Sinha disclosed that Bhagnani had extended an invitation to Govinda for the screening of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, but the actor couldn’t attend as he was busy campaigning for the election.

Sinha also admitted that he “personally ensured Govinda’s punctuality” and respected Govinda’s co-star Amitabh Bachchan’s work ethic on the set of the original Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

During an earlier conversation with YouTube channel Reviewron Ronak Kotecha, Bhagnani recounted an incident from the shooting of Hero No 1 wherein the entire unit of 75 people had to wait idly in Switzerland for three days as Govinda had not yet arrived in the country.
